Leaderly Quote: If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring your own chair.

According to the University of New Hampshire’s Center for Venture Research, only 19% of angel investors in the United States in 2013 were women and only 4% were minorities.

One woman who is out to turn that statistic around is Natalia Oberti Noguera. Natalia is founder and CEO of Pipeline Fellowship, an organization that teaches women how to get started in angel investing and connects women entrepreneurs to sources of capital. It’s a powerful win-win that Natalia hopes will change the face of angel investing.

Pipeline Fellowship has opened a call for applications for aspiring angel investors to attend its fall boot camps in Austin, Atlanta, LA, Miami, Seattle, and the Bay Area.

One of Natalia’s favorite quotes comes from Midy Aponte, who says “If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring your own chair.” To women who have been successful in their corporate careers, Natalia has a new challenge for you: Become an angel investor, and “sit at the bigger kids’ table.”
