Leaderly Quote: Time spent understanding people is never wasted
By Jo Miller
I’ve learned so much from my amazing friend, Cate Huston.
Knowing Cate reminds me that I should write more, own fewer things, plan more adventures in the different places I travel to, and spend more time in art galleries. Also that you can be a wonderful leader while maintaining a down-to-earth sense of humor, and a goofy (and at times weird and cathartic) Twitter feed.
Cate recently shared with Be Leaderly six lessons that she learned in her first six months as a manager. I encourage you to read the entire article. One of those lessons worth repeating is this one:
“Time spent understanding people is never wasted.”
Cate explains, “People, if you are kind, and patient, and accepting, will mostly just be who they are, because anything else is too much work. If you get to know who people are, then a lot of things will make sense.”
