Leaderly Quote: Don’t be a “lone ranger.”
By Jo Miller
“How do you know when you’re breaking too many rules?”
I asked this question of Liz Centoni, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Computing Systems Product Group, during a leadership webinar.
Her response: When you find yourself always being in the position of the lone ranger. When you’re out there alone, not working toward your “North Star” of your guiding mission, and goals. Whether those are defined by you or your leader, they should align with the overall direction of your organization. Reaching your North Star requires you to bring others along.
What’s your North Star?
What can you do this week to lead, engage, and inspire others to work toward it with you?
