Play Your Position (Podcast)
By Jo Miller
“If you’ve ever watched a championship team, you see players who know what position they are supposed to play,” writes Mary Lou Kayser, host of the Play Your Position podcast. She’s observed that teams work well and win together when everyone is clear about his or her respective position.
Mary Lou’s podcast is a series of interviews with people who are unapologetically playing their positions, and so I was thrilled to be invited as a guest on a recent episode.
We chatted about what it’s been like to play my current position, and some of the mentors and sponsors who have coached me along the way. And because some of life’s greatest insights can be gleaned from the times when we are not in our comfort zone, I spoke candidly about what it was like to get fired from my first job and return to an entry level position to re-start my climb.

Make sure to listen right to the end when I deflect Mary Lou’s question about my favorite sports team, and instead teach her a weird Australian custom!
